Woke up to a hazy morning in Santa Barbara... still could not leave my camera behind.
I had to walk from west beach to east beach and decided to not walk via the ocean but spend some time clicking my way thru the neighborhood streets.
It seems like there is a photo op every two steps... so here goes... believe me I am only showing you a forth of the pictures.
It seems every entrance is special...
I love porches...
And the pathways thru the gardens are story book like...
Every entrance prepares you for a new experience...
with a special greeter
be it a statue or bamboo...
or flower pots or old stones.
Tile work is everywhere.... so lovely
It is California after all ... no matter what age (notice the gray hair) they love their skateboards.
When I first moved here from Chicago, I could not believe that there wasn't an age limit to skateboard, you would never see anyone over 12 skateboarding there.
But we all love our roller blades... I should take mine out of storage.
We are lucky.

hi diane! what a lovely place! amazing photos! kisses!
I'm so in love with Santa Barbara, you have really captured it with your photo's. Love watching the surfers (my husband surf as well) :-)
What fun! I love tagging along with you on the photo tours. It appears that a lot of thought goes behind planning the entrance ways and paths. They invite you to slow down a little and enjoy the journey--just as you have done for us in photo.
thanks for sharing,
Faye
Hello,
I came to see the painting of a dress you did. It is so wonderful and lively. Then I found this post on Santa Barbara, I lived there for 25 years ago. So much fun for me to see your photos! Now I live in the wilds of Montana, entirely different. Now to look around at more of your wonderful posts.
Wonderful Diane! I so wanted to take my camera on a wander in our little village yesterday, but gardening chores came first! Soon, soon!
Millie ^_^
